Kinda weird to blame being blitzed when you’re always blitzed. At some point you got to accept that you’re an asshole at baseline.

The weed probably only lowered her inhibition barrier so basically it revealed who she really is.

Getting totally blitzed and celebrating genocide is practically a national pastime at this point so can you really blame her?

I still don’t understand what the NASA thing has to do with anything. Is it like everyone makes mistakes? Or like the men criticizing me don’t understand that women go Hitler-mode when they smoke that loud?

Like just overall how do you think this makes you look better.

She thinks she’s saying even the smartest organization makes mistakes, but all I’m reading is, “I’m just like the Nazis!”

No idea but I assumed it’s an internalized misogyny joke? Like “I’m a woman, we’re emotional and erratic ok!”

The impression I got is that she was implying that the people who were criticizing her over her comment were largely men who, being men, don’t have the emotional intelligence to understand what it’s like to care about hostages.

I think what she’s saying is, here is this anecdote of some engineers not knowing how (cis) women work, anyone calling me out on my bullshit is sexist like those men. I think? Like this is me grasping at straws, I fully don’t understand what she means. Maybe it’s like others have said though, “even smart people make mistakes” or whatever, but it feels like a weird pull for just that idea.

Putting aside this, while yes obviously the 100 tampons story is extremely funny it’s also potentially not that crazy? Maybe an afab comrade will tell me this is a bad take but tampons are pretty light, NASA already lives and breathes redundancy, and it’s not like they go bad, so why not throw in a bunch of extra? Obviously I’m sure a lot of it was just that yeah the NASA nerds don’t know how periods work and this is an absurd amount of extra but I feel that story is overblown. Will do self crit if there’s something deeper about it I’m missing

IIRC the guys in charge of packing the personal items for Sally Ride’s trip to the ISS asked her how many she would need, and she gave them a high “worst case scenario” estimate. Sally told the story as a kind of funny thing that happened to her while preparing to go to space, and people re-telling the story draw all kinds of conclusions about what it means. IMO it’s a fairly benign example of how a homogeneous workplace has blindspots in their experience.

Yeah I don’t give a single flying fuck about any of those hostages until the IDF admits how many of them are soldiers. They keep pushing this line like they’re all poor little innocent civilians (putting aside that there’s no such thing as an innocent settler). Same with the death counts.

I am going to continue assuming all Israeli hostages and casualties are IDF soldiers until they admit that the majority are in fact soldiers

Also there’s no such thing as a civilian in their society. Every adult is not only a veteran (or criminal) but I’m pretty sure they’re all subject to being mustered if Israel mobilizes.

Hamas is also being reasonable. They’re saying, “can you stop bombing us for two seconds, and then maybe you can get some hostages back?”

Yeah meanwhile the IOF on like the first day said they’ll bomb the fuck out of them regardless of the hostages.

That alone is enough to make me believe they’re almost all soldiers because there’s no way the Israeli public would be OK with the IOF wiping out their own women and children, whereas for IOF troops that’s already been the policy.

Have you met the israeli public? They don’t give a shit about anything other than making sure the zionist regime succeeds and will sacrifice their newborn children to do so. My wifes parents literally told her from a young age that the only reason they had all their kids (6) is to support israel and have straight up disowned her when she simply stated Palestinians are people too way back in 2014 and they havent talked since then lmao.
