I can picture the scene: Hamas all hanging out at an arms dump next to a primary school, all ready to commit another two or three massacres, as promised, but then they hear: shocked conversations run through the camp. Phones buzz. They begin unloading their weapons, decommissioning their howitzers. Someone arrives late. What’s happened? He asks, awestruck. They tell him: the leader of the British Labour party. They’ve called for a ceasefire.

Meanwhile, in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu looks up from a map of refugee camps in Gaza. His secretary is back again. He frowns. ‘This better be good’, he growls. But then, unexpectedly, even to himself, he softens as he sees the look on his secretary’s face. ‘What is it?’

‘Prime Minister’, she says, ‘two labour councils called for Keir Starmer to resign even though he’s just won two by-elections and he’s twenty points ahead in the polls—’

‘Any other leader would be,’ Netanyahu interjects. ‘But wait… a LABOUR council?!’

‘No, sir: two Labour councils. So of course, he resigned and called for a ceasefire.’

‘By gosh, we’d best cease fire in that case! Call off the attack immediately, there may still be time!’

The point is not that making a call for a cease fire will actually cause it to happen, but what is the stance of the future PM of this country. Will he unrelentingly back Israel in their war which puts millions of people’s lives in jeopardy, or will he work for peace?

A ceasefire will do fuck all for the overall situation, it just saves lives now at the cost of future lives. Its just a liberal take that is no actual solution to the issue at hand. The issue being there are two far right wing, religious groups who hate each other and have no qualms with civilian deaths being a part of their hatred.

The point is not what might actually happen but [symbolic gesture, contentious framing, more contentious framing, platitudes].

Seems to be some federation issue. Two is also the number of .world comments before you, so I guess the server is having some issues with federating comments or something.

Happens sometimes if there are comments by someone whom your instance is defederated or blocked.

I was never going to vote for this dishonest toolbag anyway but after his abhorrent stance it seems many are going to vote Green, as they’re the only party to call for a ceasefire.

Since when are Labour’s values to not support killing Muslims? Pretty sure Blair killed a fuck load.

The first mosque was created in the 19th century in Britain. We had zero islamist terror attacks until after Blair’s war in Iraq.

This isn’t really about religion tbh. It’s just about people being murdered.

Most of the Islamic terrorists were ISIS weren’t they?

You’re also ignoring the previous wars we did in that region long before Blaire.

That’s not how the islamists saw it.

Most of the Islamic terrorists were ISIS weren’t they?

Muslim Brotherhood is the largest. They spawned Hamas

        What wars?

Your history of Islam in Britain has a few holes. Perhaps you need to sit the next few plays out
