I can only assume this is sarcasm since I get none coming up on my feed even if I wanted it… and I sometimes do. Don’t judge me.

Bruh, I bet I have blocked over 100 communities. So much porn. Y’all need a bf/gf. Go out and meet someone and give your meat a rest. Lol

NSFW tags are still used for spoilers here. I’d be cutting out major parts of subs I want to see by disabling NSFW content.

I’m also having the same problems as OP. I can’t reliably browse local or all at work because some uncensored hardcore porn is fairly likely to show up

I’ve also seen posts marked nsfw that just had a naughty word or were mildly risqué. I don’t want a completely tame lemmy experience. I just don’t want a butthole to scroll across my screen when I’m standing in line at Target.

I’ve done this. It helped a bit. Still getting the odd community. It’s not a major deal…just saying there’s a lot. lol

I sort by active by default and don’t see any nsfw usually. Also selecting to view “subscribed” channels may help

Is there actually porn on lemmy? All I see are pics, gifs and snippets but I have not found a single community where they would post full porn movies.

I’m using Connect for Lemmy, and under “All” it’s everywhere. If you can’t find it, you aren’t looking. Would like an easier way to filter it all out rather than blocking individual communities

I can’t understand how people are getting this experience. Are they browsing Local @ xxxlemmynsfw.porn or what?

Sure its a pic or two but not everywhere by a long stretch

When I browse hot I get posts from months ago with two upvotes and one comment. It’s more of an ice cold sort for me.

There’s a shit ton of porn subs that pop up throughout the days. Ive blocked 50 so far in under a week. That’s all just from them popping up on /all/ + top 6 hours and me blocking as I see on my feed.

I’m actually confused at all the people who haven’t seen the porn lmao. There is always at least one post at the top of my feed when I get on.

    Two things you can do:

    1. You can change your account settings to filter out all NSFW content.

    2. Alternatively, since NSFW can include more than just porn, you can block specific NSFW communities (most of which will probably come from lemmynsfw.com) as you encounter them. While logged in, if you encounter an NSFW community in your feed, just click on it to go to its main page (ex. [email protected], a community from my own blocklist), go to the sidebar, and click “Block Community”.

Maybe I haven’t been hanging around Lemmy that long, but I haven’t seen any NSFW stuff yet. Might be tempting fate, and considering I am looking at Lemmy at work.

There may be content that isn’t porn that may be marked nsfw for whatever reasons users may want to see that blanket disabling NSFW would hide.

I personally keep seeing it in All and it’s annoying. I don’t want to turn off NSFW because I want to see other non-porn NSFW content

All depends very much on the instance you are in. Depending on who the people in your instance subscribe to, is what is shown in all. I didnt have much porn between .ca or reddthat yesterday. It also depends on how you sort in that instance.

I checked on the All feed, both under New and Active. It took me several pages of browsing to find a single pornographic submission, and to be honest all you really have to do is go into settings and either disable NSFW content or block communities which post porn. Only like… two or three NSFW communities on LemmyNSFW are really hitting the All feed.

I’m on a different instance that’s all about porn. I think it’s actually the biggest instance for porn.

NSFW content is hidden by default, you need to view it with an account that allows NSFW content to see the porn. There is a lot, both in quantity and variety

Can someone help me understand how Lemmy works?

When I click this link I can’t see very much content – presumably because I’m not logged in and NSFW content is hidden by default.

Is there a way to get a view of the “lemmynsfw Frontpage”, as my logged in lemmy.fmhy.ml identity? Specifically I want to see the lemmynsfw “local” view as if I was logged in there directly.

Bonus question; is there an easy way to do something like that on mobile, without fiddling with URLs?

You can’t see the front page from another instance, also because it’s not that useful. You can join communities from other instances and interact on posts.

I don’t know if there’s a better solution, but even on mastodon, you’ll have to piss yourself off by copying and pasting community and post urls.

Thanks for the answers. That’s a pretty big usability gap but I guess I have no idea what I’d do about it, so it makes sense.

Maybe just be able to see a list of another instance’s communities instances, in the context of my own instance, so I could browse and go directly to a community instead of having to swap between tabs and fiddle with URLs?

              Anyways thanks

            1. Correct
            2. Currently I do not believe so, the easiest way would be to make an account on nsfw, browse it, then subscribe with your other account when you find what you like
            3. Not the I know of
