This was so good I barely comprehended it as a joke.
Bert couldn’t help the exasperation in his voice, “I mean do I look GOOD, Ernie?”
Ernie gave him a wry smile, and as the horizon became blindingly white, he put a reassuring hand on Bert’s shoulder and cheerily said, “You must - you don’t need glasses.”
As the blast wave rolled in, one corner of Bert’s mouth tugged gently upwards.
