Dedicate a run where you keep her in your party the whole time. She’s a very different character by the end, with a very good overall story.
I ran with the two of them, and a rotating third that eventually Karlach settled into permanently. No regrets, both Shadowheart and Lae’zel have amazing arcs, and Karlach is the teddy bear mascot with a giant trident.
