So a pair of bizarre and completely surreal rumours started to swirl yesterday.
Microsoft are possibly bringing first party games Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves to PlayStation 5 and/or Nintendo Switch.
These rumours come courtesy of Giant Bombs Jeff Grubb that Microsoft is looking to adjust its software strategy moving forward.
Bringing the almost 6 year old live service Sea of Thieves to rival platforms makes perfect sense as it’s easy to imagine player numbers in steady decline after this long and potentially tapping into another 140+ million paying PS5 and Switch customers seems like a no brainer.
The only issue I can see is I doubt the Switch is capable of playing either of these of games in an enjoyable state and may be slated the for Switch 2.
Either way it certainly looks like Microsoft is testing the waters with two of its first party IP on rival hardware.
I’d definitely jump back into Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush on PlayStation if given the choice. How about Forza Horizon 5 and dare I say Halo too.
Perhaps Sony could reciprocate by bringing Horizon or Spider-Man to Xbox. After all there’s 25 million Series S|X customers to sell games too.

I cannot see SoT on Switch. Between graphics and online aspects, just doesn’t seem viable.
