I watched the first few minutes of this a*nd felt it was just the movie but animated and with worse music. Does it get any better or add anything that’s not already in the movie?
I’m gonna be honest with you, I haven’t seen the movie and much of what I know is from my girlfriend, so it was a lot more of a new experience for me. The plot does diverge from the movie drastically after the first episode and I enjoyed what the show offered. Do agree on the music bit though, the movie music is iconic

This could turn out to be the greatest game ever.
The crew of the Bebop finds the edge of their crystal sphere* and ends up in Realmspace, got kidnapped by mindflayers, and have to deal with the parasite before repairing their ship and heading home
There’s one cutscene with Spike fighting a dragon in the Swordfish II, and obliterating it with the plasma cannon
*I know crystal spheres aren’t part of the lore anymore but that’s stupid and I don’t respect it
