Amazon is more profitable than ever after a year of mass layoffs::The tech giant posted the largest quarterly operating income in its history on the back of cost-cutting and faster revenue growth in key divisions.
All the news today about them reminded me to cancel my prime membership. Thanks, Barbara Streisand!
Almost all of it is AWS. Which has a what, a 30% margin? Your money at work.
i mean yeah duh. that doesn’t mean it’s right or good to do mass layoffs
That’s generally how the economy works, unless you’re in a recession…
Haven’t ordered anything from their site for years and never felt better
And today I cancelled my prime membership and it feels great
If you stop putting fuel in your car, the first few miles are very cheap i must say…

How often does that happen? What’s the duration?

They offer me “free trials” every few months when i try to purchase something. which i accept and then promptly cancel so I don’t forget about it. It’s helpful for me since there are some things i need to purchase regularly on there. No throwaway required.

Money for me, but not for thee
If this isn’t a sign for Amazon workers that their contribution is undervalued even at their current compensation, I don’t know what is. For fucks sake, unionize and become millionaires!
Cutting to profitability. A tired and true way to make the books look good.
(Not a typo)

TLDR: Amazon is a cunt
But you know their product is going to go to shit in a few quarters, so be sure to sell high.
Does that mean that massive layoffs work?
Nobody works after massive layoffs :)
