Like free trials, they keep free in the name just to make sure it is clear and because people like free stuff.
They…aren’t? They’re free demos, right there in the title.
I think he’s trying to say that the phrase “free demos” implies the existence of demos you have to pay for.
They do - it’s called “early access”
That’s just a release though, only they’re being honest about how unfinished and buggy their game is.

Interesting combination of words
It always catches my attention when a game is a mix of genres that sound like they shouldn’t be. “Rougelite City Builder” was another that sounded like it didn’t make any damn sense but they pulled it off well (Against the Storm).
I liked it way more than I expected
This one surprised me. I was going to spend 30 minutes playing, now have logged 10 hours.
Pacific Drive
I liked Kill It With Fire 2, it’s more of the same but with more elaborated map and tasks, which is excellent. Also played Phosfi, heavily “inspired” in Hollow Knight, but it needs some time in the oven.
