Imagine this from a branding perspective. Everyone calls them tweets. Nobody calls them posts. And they want to throw that away.

What a lazy fucking response by this dumbshit. Just an absolute spacetime-warping black hole of creativity, sucking in everything clever and good around him and allowing nothing back out past the event horizon of his ineptitude.

Isn’t that apostrophe possessive? Shouldn’t it have been Xs? Not a native English speaker, so just asking.

The usage rules are so simple and it never involves pluralization

Mmmm, it’s and its would like a word with you. Not pluralization but definitely the one that makes it less than simple.

Also, the other weird one is words/names that already end in ‘s’

Like if Mr Jones owns something, that’s Mr Jones’ car

I did not know Jones’s was valid actually! And honestly, I learned that rule from level names in Ty the Tasmanian tiger, like “Cass’ Pass” when I thought they fucked up as a kid.

Mainly just was adding on! I’m similar when I learn rules like that or when I finally nailed the ‘to’ vs ‘too’ thing, I tend to also get irked by their misuses after I get them down

I’m going to absolutely say that someone xed out an x. I’m also pronouncing the name of the company as ten. I’m also going to be correcting anyone that calls it Twitter.

What a stupid stupid move. “Tweet” is in the dictionary, it’s people’s standard vocab word for any kind of short post.

It’s like if Johnson & Johnson decided to rename Band-Aid to strips. Why would you lose decades of advertising and free advertising by people using your name?

X is my least favourite letter because it’s literally synonymous with to much in math/computer science and other fields. Heck it even exists in the social media space as a xposting (crossposting)

I’m simply gonna keep calling it twitter and tweets.

Best of both worlds. Big manbaby will get annoyed and I don’t do anything differently!
