In theory, tax payer paid healthcare is a good idea. In theory.

Liberals want a government funded health care system paid for by government taking other people’s money and imprison everybody who won’t give their money to the government, they demand a ban to private healthcare, but when there’s no money for government to provide thorough treatment, they want people executed or killed off to save government money.

They say it’s better for all people to suffer than for some individuals to do well.

This is more like, your take on the situation but not what people other than conservatives (basically everyone different from you that you’ve lumped into the term “liberal”) believe.

Fun fact: The US healthcare system costs more IN TAXES than every other country’s. And then you have to pay exorbitant amounts per month, and even more when you get sick, on top.

Exorbitant? I spend about 2400 a year on healthcare. That’s nothing. That’s less than 1% of my income. Anything about 7% you can deduct from your taxes.

You hear that everyone? The mod doesn’t spend a lot on healthcare so it’s not a fact that this country spends more than any other and gets less. As a healthy person, your wants for cheaper healthcare are unfounded. “The system works for me” so nothing needs to change.

Interesting take! I’d be curious to hear any thoughts on the Friedman doctrine as it relates to healthcare, and in broader terms of social services or just in general.

Well I’d have to read up on it. In all fairness it doesn’t ring a bell. That’s why I like Australia’s system. Public safety net but private for those who want more. I think that’s the model America needs.

Well now just hold on a gosh darned minute there Mr. Flippy Mcflopper, “A plumber should not be paying for your gender studies degree” and yet you want me to pay for treatment of people who gave themselves diabetes by eating too much heavily subsidized sugar?

Anyway if you are slowly coming around to democratic socialism thinking that’s great and I won’t tell anyone, but you should realize education is as important as healthcare to a functioning society.

I’ve always supported at least some level of a tax paid system. It’s never been a change for me. For profit doesn’t always mean government owners. It can be non-profits or other solutions. I just don’t think profit should be the core of the medical system due to inelastic demand.

Swedish studies have as high of a debt load leaving college as Americans. So free isn’t free.

In Germany only 33% of the population has a degrees. America it’s 54%. Previously Germany was about 24%. So if you are willing to allow only 24% of people to have degrees then sure, I’d support free education. That would sharply limit the supply.

                I agree with you, comrade.

Well I happen to believe that anything Germany can do, America can do better. We put man on the moon, did Germany do that? Why, I bet with a little American ingenuity and determination, we could get up to 60% of Americans to have degrees in gender studies.

Explain how a single patient death is a valid argument against the thousands (probably more) of times privatized, profit-driven healthcare in the US has done that or worse.

When you look at who is preserving and enabling this situation, it’s congressional conservatives. Look at their voting records. Review C-SPAN coverage and watch it actually happen. You cannot manipulate reality with online arguments, only accept/reject it.

What you have right here is a straw man argument. A single case is anecdotal, the trend however is much more important.

Admittedly I was because I caught on to the power tripping nature of this community’s mod.

But that’s how they want to run it so I’m back complying like a good little user and am just going to keep my thoughts to the comments section where that’s allowed.

You see, conservative opinions only work when being broadcasted while burying out dissenting voices. If those voices are too loud, too many people may not agree with conservatives.

It’s here because Canada is the only country in the world with tax payer paid healthcare. Wait, what? Most countries in the world have tax payer paid healthcare? I meant in North America. Wait, what? Mexico has tax payer paid healthcare too?

Many countries have it, Canada is just the poster child for how bad it can be. The UK is also infamous for the NHS, but MAID is another level of fucked up.

Bro… like half the people I know have gone to Mexico for Healthcare they can’t get in the states because it’s unaffordable. When I lived in AZ I used to go to Mexico to get my prescriptions filled for like 1/30th the cost of the same meds in America.
