    My grandfather treated my grandmother this way in their entire 66 years of marriage. When we called him out on it he would give excuses about being entitled because they were married.

    And of course these are the kinds of things he would share on Facebook. If they share memes like this they actually treat people like this.

    I never got the whole thing with “hate one’s spouse” jokes. Like, marriage isn’t mandatory these days. If you really, truly, don’t like a person anymore or hate living with them, why remain together?

      It’s either deep, childlike insecurity about their spouse or a religious marriage. At least in my experience.
