When people have compassion and empathy for oppressed people’s suffering, the right thing to do is help them survive and end the suffering, full stop. There may be an added benefit later on where individuals become more compassionate themselves as a result, but that is not the primary goal - just a really nice bonus we get sometimes.

I know it’s rhetorical but yeah. They (not so) secretly want to kill LGBTQ, or at least view them as inferior. It’s just another indicator of weakness, to them, that LGBTQ protestors and allies don’t abuse their position in the West to demand reigning death on people living in places the West has previously done nothing but reign death upon or destabilize, while fostering the least palatable organized resistance they could find. Still couldn’t manage to find anyone worse than themselves though.

Obviously you should only want good things for somebody if you personally would immediately materially gain from it. I think that’s fairly obvious, when I was taking my niece to the park yesterday another kid wanted the swing so I was like “little one, I think that kid wants a go. You should charge a small fee to vacate the swing”.
