I find it frustrating how libs seem to think that people won’t vote for Biden because they disagree on one simple thing.
People won’t vote for Biden because he fails ALL the items on that list, but because Trump is so awful they’d still be willing to vote for Biden, if he didn’t commit a genocide.
Its not “well he’s one item from perfect” it’s “Jesus christ, that is it! If you’re doing a genocide then there is no difference at all.”

Even if those liberal politicians had the best of intentions, what do they have to say for the fact they have done NOTHING to resist the white ruling class’ SIX DECADE LONG TEMPER TANTRUM over the civil rights act? Hell, Biden did nothing about the oil cartels raising prices together as one likely as protest over a non-republican in office.

Tumblr is seemingly full of the least materialist-minded liberals you’ve ever seen. The entire framing of “you have to vote based on what the candidates claim to support” even if they were honest about it, is on its face a shit idea when BOTH CANDIDATES HAVE BEEN PRESIDENT, AND ONE HAS BEEN IN CONGRESS FOR 11,000 YEARS BEFORE THAT

    THEY HAVE TRACK RECORDS

Liberals in general treat politics as prayer and ritual to a pantheon of polytheistic gods. You must perform the Biden voting sacrament or else the nefarious Putin will ruin this year’s grape harvest.

Nate Silver is the temple’s leading haruspex. When he predicted in 2012 that the volcano god would not erupt based on the entrails of a bird, he was widely applauded for being correct among the townsfolk.

Trans rights: rights to what? Medical care? Protection from discrimination? Another commenter pointed out the massive surge in anti-trans rhetoric, hate crimes, and hate laws during Biden’s regime

Abortion access: Roe v Wade ended during Biden regime, no attempts made to enshrine abortion as law or protect existing abortion providers or act against state level anti-abortion laws

Environmental reform: oil & gas extraction has never been higher than under Biden, and Biden has allowed extraction on an unprecedented amount of previously protected land

Prescription reform: Insulin is price capped for some. People still die from lack of access due to cost

Loan forgiveness: What forgiveness? You’d think if people were getting their loans forgiven the regime would be blasting the airwaves about it to lock in voters that also want to alleviate their debt

Infrastructure funding: Of the billions provided, most has vanished into thin air by way of layers of consultants, corruption, and inability to manufacture anything without ten middlemen skimming. The practical result is that very little has been done, and most of it is toxic car infrastructure

Advocating racial equity: advocating something isn’t the same as actually enacting laws to mandate it. Biden also advocates for Bibi to bomb less but keeps giving him more bombs

DEI: this is racial equity again

Vaccines & public health: Biden ended free vaccination programs and told the CDC to stop monitoring COVID, and has had seemingly no interest in taking preemptive action against the developing bird flu crisis

Criminal justice reform: He pardoned the like, 10 people on federal weed charges and rescheduled it down from heroin to meth level

Military support to Israel: this is bad, it’s bad he’s doing this

Ceasefire: He could compel the ceasefire with one phone call and hasn’t done a thing beyond telling Bibi to please try to bomb fewer children, please sir

“You have to vote for Biden for now, but once we get ranked choice voting you can vote third party.”

“Oh, does Biden support ranked choice voting then?”

    “No.”

RCV/instant runoff doesn’t actually create opportunities for third parties either. Plenty of places use it and still have duopolies or single party rule. There’s also fptp systems that have multiple parties engaged in government.

It’s almost like political power doesn’t flow from votes.

It’s an improvement and I could see some argument for holding your nose and voting for a lib if they were actually gonna do it, but when the candidate doesn’t even pretend to support it it’s just another reason to oppose them, it’s entirely self-defeating.

Canadian Obama literally ran on ending FPTP, pretended to evaluate the alternatives, then said there was no consensus on which alternative to switch to so why bother.

Changing election systems means power giving up the path by which it got to power. Guess how likely that is.

    1. trans rights have not been protected under Biden, and have begun to be stripped away without any backlash
    2. didn’t codify Roe, now it’s dead under him
    3. Ha, Biden loves oil
    4. People still go bankrupt due to medical debt
    5. He’s trying to sanction a cure for diabetes because it’s more profitable to treat than it is cure.
    6. it got shot down, Biden still owes me over 10,000 dollars
    7. not enough busses, not enough trains.
    8. literally supported segregation
    9. just repeating bullet points with different wording for filler
    10. covid is being swept under the rug as if it no longer exists, and a new bird flu is likely brewing in addition to that due to our fucked up food industry.
    11. cant even legalize weed. Maybe he’ll free a couple high profile black people before the election though.

Yes I am a single-issue voter. My single issue is that I don’t vote for people who are actively committing a genocide.

These little assholes know they’re not changing anyone’s minds. Deep down they probably want to see Biden lose so they can spend the next four years feeling smug on the internet that themselves, the good upstanding liberals that are, advocated for Biden but those evil horseshoe tankies got Trump elected. The feelings of moral superiority is what they crave, but they also know the left has the morally superior position (and it kills them that we don’t even care about being “morally superior”).

Edit: I want to tell one of these nerds who makes these charts: “Death to America, I love humanity infinitely more than I do this country. So add a few foreign policy issues like “forcing Ukrainians into a meat grinder”. Then weight domestic versus foreign issues in proportion to the population of the US versus RoW, and then see how the points shake out.

Oh libs absolutely love it when their party is out of power because then they get to pretend their party would fix all these problems if they just were in power. When they’re actually in power, then they have to make excuses for their impotency and that’s no fun.

If I ever have kids, I would so fucking disgusted with myself if they asked me what I was doing during the Palestine Genocide and I said “…I voted for the person carrying out the genocide.” I can’t even imagine. Fascists will openly embrace being evil, but liberals love to do all sorts of mental gymnastics to tell leftists “nuh-uh, YOU’RE THE REAL PORKY! I’m the only viable protector of the masses!”

    Liberals think intentions are everything.
