What a beautiful article, filled with gems of quotes.

In a report this week, the institute found that of the top 10 most-engaged posts on X about the shooting on Wednesday, six “either expressed explicit or implicit support for the killing or denigrated the victim.” The dynamic is similar to the discourse that often emerges after a mass shooting on websites like 4chan and 8chan, where perpetrators of extreme violence become memes themselves, Mr. Goldenberg said, “but what’s disturbing about this is it’s mainstream.”

“It’s being framed as some opening blow in a broader class war, which is very concerning as it heightens the threat environment for similar actors to engage in similar acts of violence,” Mr. Goldenberg said.

They are trying soo hard to twist this away from what everyone knows it is and they are failing miserably.

Mr. Goldenberg said, “but what’s disturbing about this is it’s mainstream.”

It’s even more disturbing that necessary medical care being denied by insurers is mainstream, as it has been for decades.

If the opening blows of a broader class war are very concerning to you, I guess you’re on the wrong side.

School shootings are whatever, but this? This is really concerning!

People directing their violence at a specific target and not just senselessly killing innocents you say? Impossible, unacceptable, how could they?

          From the MSN article

The wannabe doppelganger noted that he didn’t have to particularly dress up for the event, saying “I wear this everywhere.”

His killer looks landed him $50.

The champ said he’s had his own issues with health insurance companies covering some of his medications, although he admitted he is not a UnitedHealthcare customer.

          Killer looks guys

It reminds me of that bank robbery that had wanted ads in the newspaper. It was to dress a certain way and be at the bank at a specific time. That’s when they robbed the bank dressed up how everyone else was. I can’t find the story but I think it was somewhere in the EU , maybe France.

yeah but it’s especially hard in this case.

      • this isn’t the defense department; it’s the police. they don’t have a billion dollar budget

      • this guy was killed in a dark back alley in the middle of the night

      • they don’t have security footage on him

      oh wait. sorry.

      • the NYPD has a multi-billion dollar budget

      • the suspect killed the demon outside a Hilton hotel under some fantastic lighting

      • he did it right in front of a camera with such specific attire that it became a cosplay competition

so this is about fucking cops being as incompetent as they always are. if you don’t have black or brown people to shoot don’t even bother calling them; that’s why they signed up.

Or maybe, in this case all fronts are united … even the fucking cops have family with health issues.

I genuinely thought the NYPD would have just grabbed a homeless guy and dressed him up before forcing a confession by now.

One would hope the cops take their sweet ass time doing their job this time, considering they might actually have someone that bought the insurance or get their insurance claim denied.

Oh snap imagine if the shooter was actually a cop and it comes to light. I’d love to see how Lemmy reacts to that

A cop would have done it in uniform and enjoy a free vacation on the taxpayer’s dime while claiming the CEO “reached for a weapon”

Heh yeah that’d be convenient and absolutely an option, but maybe he didn’t live and work in the vicinity of the CEO. Going out of your way in uniform… Not sure that’d work out

There was a movie called Inside Job or Inside Man or something like that, where the lead organizes a bank robbery where he ends up secreting himself in a hidden room inside the bank itself, and then emerging with the cash a week later and strolling out. It would be pretty hilarious if this guy hid himself in Manhattan in similar fashion and then emerged into this lookalike contest to make his escape.
