Summary

Trump supporters are calling to defund PBS after it reported that Elon Musk’s post-inauguration gesture resembled a Nazi salute.

PBS described it as “similar to the ‘Sieg Heil’ used by Nazis,” sparking conservative backlash, with figures like Tomi Lahren and Rep. Andy Biggs accusing PBS of propaganda.

Musk denied the claim and criticized “legacy media” and Wikipedia for bias.

Calls to defund PBS align with longstanding conservative goals and plans like Project 2025, which includes eliminating public media funding under a new Trump administration.

    “pure propaganda”

As in: “We want pure propaganda! We don’t want any media whatsoever to ever say anything that we don’t like or already agree with! You say Trump is God or you get defunded!!”

It’s not a “salute”, it’s a Nazi salute, from a Nazi, to tell the world, “I’m a powerful Nazi and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

It’s time we did something about it.

That reminds me of a trip to Vegas with some friends.

Outside our hotel was the PBR bar.

So we thought, hell yeah, drink some shitty cheap beer in the sun before we walk down the strip to… whatever.

        Nope, Professional Bull Riding bar.

I don’t recall what I ate (that would a trend for the trip, I was hung over for a week after I got home) but I remember it was pretty tasty.

How do you defund something that runs on charity from the people who watch it (and also a large contribution from the Koch brothers)? Do these dumbfucks think PBS is paid for by tax money? Every single program I’ve ever seen on PBS explicitly states it’s paid for by viewers (and again, the Koch brothers).

PBS is also funded by a grant from the government.

It’s a small portion of their funding at this point but still essential.

I have ADHD, Autism and god damn OCD. People are akward with me and I am with them. Never in my fucking life did I need to stim using a Sieg Heil. Never in my life felt I that my body, as motorically challenged as it is, that the thing it should be doing that motion bang on perfect. Twice. On TV.

If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, Sieg Heils as a duck it is a nazi.

Ok? Are you some poster boy of all awkward movements? I once flicked off a whole crowd after piano recital, unintentionally.

So stop watering down what he did. I am not even hypocritical. At most it could be virtue signaling. But it is a virtue apparently to not make the god damn Sieg Heil on national television.

Musk hasn’t tried to clarify anything, because he shouldn’t have to.

All those that honestly, sincerely believe that Musk was “sig hailing” are either full of shit, stupid, or lying.

Alleged is the right word, especially because he keeps saying he has Asperger’s, which hasn’t been a medical diagnosis in years, and there’s no evidence he was ever evaluated.

And if we help them [the abnormal children] with all our dedication, we also render the best service to our Volk; not only by avoiding that they burden the Volksgemeinschaft with their dissocial and criminal acts, but also by trying to ensure that they fulfill their duties as productive individuals in the living organism of the Volk. (Asperger H. Das psychisch abnorme Kind. Wien Klin Wochenschr. 1938;49:1314–7.)

Dude was a Nazi, somehow people made up this story that saw him as a sort of good guy who wanted to protect children

So, what you’re saying is that you personally did a big search yourself and couldn’t find anything that made you think Trump was thinking about doing this? Nothing at all from any reliable source?

Also, I didn’t use the newest article I could find, I picked the first I could find from a Right source so there’d be no possible bias.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Orwell thought The Party would be directing it all, but this is all sufficiently self-directing, much more akin to what Huxley/Bradbury predicted. People are paying for the privilege of being lied to and running interference for The Party without needing to be coerced with fear of The Party. They only fear The Other.

The left are all morons and liars!” “Oh Trump says we’re taking it back from the Nazis… so it was a Nazi Salute, but in a patriotic way!” “Oh, Trump says Hitler was a historical hero… SEIG HEIL!”
