My routine is like clockwork and one of my favorite times of the day…
I wish I was back asleep.
Wake up, reach for my phone “just to wake my eyes up,” proceed to waste time and as a result rush through the rest of whatever else I have to do in the morning.
That’s exactly me.
- Wake up
- Fall out of bed
- Drag a comb across my head
- Find my way downstairs
- Drink a cup
- Look up and notice I am late
- Find my coat
- Grab my hat
- Make the bus in seconds flat
After did you have a smoke then somebody spoke as you went into a dream?

I wash myself with a rag that I tied to a stick

Drink a full glass of tap water
Take my morning medicine with a tall glass of water, then roll over and sleep for some 20 minutes until it kicks in and I can force myself to get up. Then, breakfast, water the plants and shower.
Replace 20 with 60 and plants with dishes - we’re effectively routine twins. Also have a habit of, after the water, bringing a cup of coffee to bedside with me (“I’m totally not falling back asleep”) only to forget about it the moment my head touches the pillow.
Love watering my dishes honestly. Also a big “turn on the espresso machine then pass back out without making any coffee” kinda guy

- Get too hot
- Walk my dog to the river by my house
- Swim against current until exausted
- Shower.
- Redo mohawk with hairgel
Then I start my day. That’s been my routine for a bit over 2 months now? Can’t complain
1, 4, 7, 6, potty, 17, 8 work, 9. Wish i could do 15 and 16. Wish i knew more about 13.

It’s bad, but it’s a ritual I love: wake up, put on my bathrobe, shuffle over to my espresso machine, make myself a nice espresso or cappuccino, light up a smoke and cuddle with my cat a for a bit. Then when my brain wakes up as well, have a shower while my cat is screaming at me, horrified that I’m willing standing in water.
Wake up, bathroom things, put on running clothes, put on running shoes, get rest of running gear, and then go for a run. Come home shower, drink my green drink, then work.
Pee then smoke.
- Get up, go pee
- Drink water
- Brush my teeth
- Shave (optional)
- Shower
- Deodorant + perfume
- Get clothed
- Hair gel
- Clean my glasses and put them on
- Breakfast (optional)
Where poop
If it works then during step 1. Or after step 10., but probably before or at work during the week :)

Usually wake up at 8 to take ADHD medication and then sleep for an hour (I’ve heard that ADHD meds absorb better if you don’t eat in the hour before or after you take it, but this could be false). Then get up at 9, shower if I have to, get dressed, make breakfast watch YouTube and then get ready for work.
On days I’m not working I do the same thing but I might shower later but I just won’t get ready for work because I don’t need to.
I also wake up to take my adhd medicine, and then sleep for another hour. Makes waking up less… chaotic
Honestly, it’s so much easier too. Getting that extra like hour-ish of sleep is nice.
It largely depends on what tasks await me that day.
I’m taking a shit no matter what tasks await, as soon as I stand up gravity immediately activates a response😂
I always do that eventually, but it’s never in my immediate routine.
