Why? Well, Canada’s winter respiratory virus season got off a late start and now it is in full swing, officials say. That suggests more people are sick with the flu and landing in the hospital compared to years past.

We’re on week 3 of rolling diseases here. I am the only lucky one that hasn’t got sick (yet), but my mental state is at an ATL with the erractic work schedule and the constant whining, barfing and snot.

Hopefully you’re near the end, sorry to hear though, that’s situation sounds like it sucks right now.

It’s the right season for soup and blankets at least.

Went to the doctor today, youngest has an ear infection like her sister the week before. Probably the same virus. Hopefully that is the last illness for this season.

        Thanks for the kind words.

And also a lot of people are not getting vaccinated for influenza and COVID and whatall. I read that only 17 percent of children in Kentucky this year got the flu shot, and while they’re obviously crazy down there compared to us that’s dismal. I myself got some virus in December that took my voice away for weeks, and I am religious about vaccines.

I used my walking pneumonia this year to quit smoking cold turkey, before then I was mixing tobacco into my joints about thrice a day, it’s been about two months

      From the article:

Skowronski says, a mix of two Influenza A subtypes, H1 and H3, are circulating this season.

I got my flu shot and still got sick twice this year. I normally don’t get sick at all. This year has sucked.

I don’t recall being as sick yearly compared to after COVID hit than before, course I am in my 40s now so I’m sure that factors into it but rarely was I curled up on the couch with a noticeable fever even for other sickness. I’d even venture I rarely had the flu before that, almost never had a fever for a couple days but since then at least once a year I get pretty ill with a decent fever for a few days, sometimes twice a year. For those wondering yes I got my shots and can only imagine how awful it’d be without them.

I caught the flu two weeks ago and it ducked fucked me up so bad. I had mild fever and severe chills, muscle pain, and a really bad cough. I’ve been coughing up blood all week last week. It’s getting better now but my lungs are still irritated. I’m so tired and low energy all the time.

If you haven’t yet, get vaccinated. Trust me.

Did you go get checked out? I’ve been sick a few times in my life but not “coughing up blood sick”

I get this sometimes when sick. Its usally blood that came from my nose or nasal area from irritation, over blowing, or dryness. The blood gets stuck in the mucus and can come out when coughing.

Yeah that’s pretty much it. It’s more like bloody mucus than straight up blood.

I did cough up a crip once. That was unnerving.

Pretty sure coughing up blood is a symptom you need to get checked out ASAP. That’s not a “wait and see” one, my dude.

It’s more like bloody mucous. It’s mostly due to irritation probably.
