Thread update: Prigozhin’s fucking dead.
The BRICS summit will begin on Tuesday and end on Thursday, with various world leaders, politicians, and representatives meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa.
America’s anxiety about the summit has been obvious. They have been complicating the event by pushing for the arrest warrant for Putin to be upheld if he steps foot in the country. While this is a remarkably dangerous and unhinged thing to do - even by America’s standards - to the leader of a nuclear superpower who could end the world within an hour, it does betray their desperation. Unfortunately, for those of us who wanted to see Putin surrounded by an army of security guards fending off people holding handcuffs, he has sent his Foreign Minister, Lavrov, in his place. Additionally, America has likely been spreading rumors about the lack of interest in gaining new members in the organization.
With apparently 20 countries formally seeking membership and another 20 informally doing so, the bloc has been elevated, whether they like it or not, to the position of the international vanguard of the non-western world. It is extremely important to say that this is not the same as it becoming an anti-American bloc, and many of them (including original members Brazil and India) wish to keep a friendly relationship with the United States. Nonetheless, with the United States’ policy of “if you are not with us, you are against us,” and as the US seeks to weaken China, in coming years many of them might find themselves under hostile pressure.
BRICS has to try and solve many problems if they are going to chip away at America’s stranglehold of the world economy. These problems - like mitigating the dollar’s status as a global reserve currency, and America’s dominant role in the world economy - are extremely complicated, and will takes years, even decades, to be overcome. Therefore, one should temper their expectations and excitement for this summit. It took tens of millions of deaths in cataclysmic wars, and then several more decades, for America to reach its current position. I see no reason to believe why its downfall will be any less bloody and elongated.
To end on a less depressing note, I’ve been searching for appropriate anagrams given the list of countries that seek to join BRICS. Obviously not all of them will make it in, but even so. The best I’ve come up with is HIBISCUS EMANCIPATES BBBBKKRVV.

Resources For Understanding The War
Defense Politics Asia’s youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don’t want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it’s just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists’ side.
Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.
Telegram Channels
Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.
Pro-Russian
https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR’s former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR’s forces. Russian language.
https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.
https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.
https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster’s telegram channel.
https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.
https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.
https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a ‘propaganda tax’, if you don’t believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.
https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.
Pro-Ukraine
Almost every Western media outlet.
https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

Senior US Officials Expect to Back Ukraine Against Russia Into Next Year and Beyond
Most senior US officials want to keep supporting the proxy war against Russia and are not looking for diplomatic off-ramps despite Ukraine’s faltering counteroffensive, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius reported on Sunday.
Ignatius writes: “I heard this same sentiment across all levels of the US government in recent days. The summer has been frustrating and, in some ways, disappointing for Ukraine and its Western backers. But rather than look for a quick diplomatic exit ramp, most senior US officials appear more convinced than ever of the need to stand fast with Kyiv. The United States, in their view, cannot be seen to abandon its ally.”
US intelligence has determined Ukraine’s counteroffensive will fail to meet its core objective of severing Russia’s land bridge to Crimea, but the US is still pressing Ukraine to push harder and concentrate its forces to make a push toward the Sea of Azov in the south. Ignatius said the US thinks Ukraine could still do some damage to Russian forces but doesn’t expect a “decisive blow.”
“That means a continuation of this grueling war into 2024 and beyond, and a continuation of the heavy casualties and emotional trauma for both sides,” Ignatius said. “US officials believe strategic patience remains the best weapon against Russian President Vladimir Putin, who still thinks he can outlast Ukraine and the West.”
As the Biden administration is expecting to keep fueling the war for years to come, US officials are considering ways to provide Ukraine with more forms of support. One idea is to send more types of widely-banned cluster munitions, which can kill and maim civilians for decades after the war. “There’s growing backing in Washington for providing rocket-launched cluster munitions, for example, which could strike deeper than the artillery-fired versions the United States began supplying last month,” Ignatius wrote.
Ignatius said US officials are expecting Ukraine to increase drone attacks on Russian territory as its forces are struggling on the ground. On Friday, Russia’s Defense Ministry said Ukraine launched 42 drones on Crimea, and Ignatius said the attack “is a foretaste of what’s ahead.”
Since Russia invaded Ukraine last year, the Biden administration has discouraged diplomacy and fueled the conflict by pouring tens of billions of dollars worth of weapons into the war zone. Ahead of Ukraine’s counteroffensive, Secretary of State Antony Blinken rejected the idea of a ceasefire even though reports indicated the US did not believe the Ukrainian assault would be a success.
What are libs saying about Prigo being iced?
Like it’s pretty obvious he was killed by Russia and it’s corrupt as hell, but surely libs aren’t going to defend Wagner of all groups.
Oh, who am I kidding they defend Azov so no doubt they would have whitewashed Wagner had they succeeded.
Three Ukrainian military pilots, including one nicknamed Juice who campaigned for the supply of F-16s, were killed on Friday when two combat training aircraft collided over a region west of Kyiv, Ukraine’s air force said.
Speaking as Juice in an interview with CNN two months ago, he said Ukrainian pilots were already trying to master the basics of F-16 flying in advance, using improvised flight simulators and whatever unclassified manuals they could find.
“I believe that in four to six months we can learn to fly it, it’s realistic,” Juice told CNN. “Our transition training will be pretty freakin’ easy.”
Edit: I’m a bit disappointed no one made a slurp juice joke. It was right there. Do better hexbear.
It’s no wonder why the right wing in America despise this guy. He’s a true leader. He speaks for the people, not to them. He speaks from his heart. He is trying to build up his country with cooperation and commitment to and from his country, not trying to break it down and break away. He seeks to unify, not divide. He’s cleaning up corruption, not fostering it. He has true command presence, no need to take it and pretend to be a tough guy. He shows up on the front line for his troops, he doesn’t disparage them. He’s been a joy to watch and grow into a truly historical figure.
E: thank you for the Gold
Real comment on Zelenskyy seen on
. He did visit the front once and took photos with the troops as well, unfortunately one of the soldiers was wearing a black sun patch sooo…
Also I don’t know what kind of “historical figure” Zelenskyy is going to be, I know they’re trying to take this uncharismatic guy and turn him into a colossal figure that stood alone for Europe against the Putinist Hordes (real nazi moment), but he just doesn’t make it. Churchill was a despicable imperialist pig, but at least he had some charisma, an extensive political life and memorable speeches/quotes. This guy? Not even there, and I used the Churchill example because libs love to compare the two. I know they’re trying to Great Man Theory this guy and it’ll be an amazing failure. Outside of the International Community ™, Zelenskyy is known as the guy that appears everywhere, says some hollow shit and is the President of Ukraine… and that’s it. Putin, on the other hand, is well known and even liked in the Global South, if anything, it’ll be Putin who’ll grow into an historical figure lmao.
So far Blowback Season 4 is making me genuinely angry.
Donald Trump Surrenders for Georgia Election Interference Case
“We did nothing wrong at all. And we have every right, every single right to challenge an election that we think is dishonest,” he said.
On Thursday, former U.S. President Donald Trump turned himself in to the authorities in Atlanta for the Georgia election interference case.
Trump flew from New Jersey, where his golf club is located, to Atlanta and arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Thursday evening. His motorcade arrived at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta at around 7:35 p.m. EDT to have himself booked.
The former president left the jail about 20 minutes later after he was released on bond. A judge in Atlanta set bail for Trump at US$200,000 on Monday.
He was fingerprinted, and had a mug shot taken like other people who were accused of state crimes. Before boarding his plane on the way back home, Trump told reporters that he did nothing wrong.
“We did nothing wrong at all. And we have every right, every single right to challenge an election that we think is dishonest,” he said, repeating his previous claims that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged” and “stolen”.
“What they are doing is election interference. They are trying to interfere with an election. … This is their way of campaigning,” he added, referring to the 2024 presidential election, where he is seeking re-election.
Trump and 18 others were indicted on Aug. 14 over alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in the state of Georgia. Trump was charged with 13 counts, including violating the state’s racketeering act, soliciting a public officer to violate his oath, conspiring to impersonate a public officer, conspiring to commit forgery in the first degree, and conspiring to file false documents.
The indictment followed a two-and-a-half-year investigation by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. The probe was launched after audio was leaked from a January 2021 phone call during which Trump urged Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to question the validity of thousands of ballots, especially in the heavily Democratic Atlanta area.
Trump said he wanted to “find” the votes to erase his 2020 loss in the state. The Georgia case is the fourth criminal case to be brought against Trump.
He is facing separate federal charges for plotting to overturn the 2020 presidential election and for mishandling classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
In March, he was indicted on New York state charges of falsifying business records in connection with hush-money payments to an adult film actress ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
I’ve done the maths for a simple ballistic trajectory calculator in stormworks but I don’t want it to be wrong and I don’t want to spend a couple of days trying to fix it. It doesn’t even do windage or gun roll.
Maybe I should just use someone else’s. That uses radar though, I think, which makes you a big ol fire magnet.
An interesting thing about coincidence rangefinders vs laser is that laser is active and could hypothetically be detected by the target. Maybe I’ll have both and the gunner can choose
Russia conducted successful field tests of a laser gun, it destroyed several drones of various types
Suggestions for new acronyms following BRICS expansion:
RUSSIA BE ICE
ICES A BRUISE
AI CUBES RISE
BEE IS ICARUS
BASIC IE USER
BI SURE IS ACE
In my opinion, both sides should simply stop shooting at each other. It is way more effort to aim and fire a weapon than it is not to, so it would make more sense for everyone to lay down their arms.
The NYT & WSJ’s Critical Articles About Kiev’s Counteroffensive Explain Why It Failed
Mouthpieces of the biden regime have started airing dirty laundry. Does this mean the proxy war could end soon and they’re trying to blame ukraine for the future loss?
