By this logic is the platform its self not breaking the rules by allowing a forum for the conversation to take place?
Getting band for something like this is like the equivalent of seeing a graffiti artist painting something on a public wall, smiling or nodding in approval, and getting a ticket handed to you around the corner for “participating”.
If they make the rules they can’t break them. Just like how our felon president walks completely free.

Banning accounts from just upvoting is insane.
it doesn’t take too long. just get banned by a sub, then post on the sub under an alt. they banned all my accts going back 14 years by fingerprint
Migrate your posts to lemmy first (some of the lemmy apps can do this in bulk). Then Edit your old posts and comments, slowly, then delete them slowly. It’s your content not Reddits.
By doing this it devalues Reddit in the process as it becomes void of human content only left with AI slop. They certainly dont value the content creators which made Reddit so why should you.
I wished I knew this before moving here. Lol my 13yo Reddit account is piss in the wind now. Oh well! Lol

I’ve been editing and deleting no more than about a dozen different comments at a time . Posts half that. Have random breaks, even creating gibberish comments
Can someone create a guide with this? Best tools, what to do if the comment thread isn’t also on Lemmy, how to change your Reddit comments to gibberish, etc

I was warned on an upvote (plural and Reddit said it wasn’t a mistake because I “habitually upvote violence”) but not what or when I upvoted.
I upvote thousands of comments. Literally no idea what the criteria is so I stopped upvoting. Then I was like, whatever I’ll join Lemmy fuck this nonsense.
Nope! I got individual comments removed, and subreddit bans so I have a good idea. Anything even vaguely mentioning use of force will do it. One comment said “don’t give Republicans an inch”, I said “let’s give them 9mm” and permaban.
This message was just anything vaguely supporting Luigi Mangione. Examples “innocent until proven guilty”.

Like im glad you guys are all getting out and finding us and other similar communities, but like… the societal and systemic implications of them going so hard on this on reddit makes me shudder to consider how insane moderation must be getting on normie social networks, which have been traditionally WILDLY awful on that point even before we decided to break fascist. This is them actively and aggressively suppressing free speech. Mahmoud Khalil was/is another instance of that. This is us not keeping the republic.

That’s how and why I joined over here. They implemented the upvote = ban policy. I got a warning. I have no idea what for because I pretty much upvote everything I read. I am pretty loose and will even upvote entire argument threads if I think the argument is worthwhile to read.
As soon as I was warned for upvoting the wrong thing, but not told which of my thousands of upvotes were wrong, I deleted Reddit.
Anyway, it’s nice here on Lemmy.
