I hope that people in the Pentagon remember that following illegal orders is a crime, too, and you cannot be forced to do so. Something established in Nürnberg when they took care of the Nazis.

An order to attack Canada, Mexico, Greenland, or Panama would basically be such an illegal order.

This is not the first time the US has made up bullshit in order to attack a country: WMDs in Iraq, communism in Vietnam, Russia said there were nazis in Ukraine to justify that war. The military only needs a lie and then it’s not illegal anymore. The lies are already circulating. “canada is communist” “canada hurts the US”

I’m not sure it’s technically illegal, and I’m very doubtful that the current judiciary would find it so. But it is unconscionable. And insane.

I wonder how many people know you can download for free or purchase the files for 3D printed guns. The additional parts can be bought, legally, in discreet kits from easy to find online sellers - but many of those parts can be bought or modified from commercially available hardware. I wonder if people know that.

The receiver is the part of the gun with a serial number that has to be reported to the government when sold or transferred. Every other part and ammunition are normal goods with few restrictions.

Only one part needs to be self crafted to make and fire a ghost gun. They are not impossible to detect through investigation or forensics, they’re just unregistered.

It’s a given if you understand how it all works.

      I’ll break it down for you;

What has he said many times recently regarding Canada that has been so newsworthy?

Could it be something about the US absorbing them as the 51st state? He has stated several times that he has no intention to let up, or “bend” on this- or offer any conditions. So, it’s acceptable to assume that the answer to this question lends fairly well to the next one:

What do you think will need to happen before he decides to drop the tariffs?

As stated, he’s offered no conditions. Which is not a stretch to conclude that-

He won’t drop the tariffs until…

To all Canadians, us sane Americans would rather you prefer as you are. This is a concrete example of a “president” that just thinks the way to “lead” is by writing as many executive orders as possible and pressuring other countries to meet ridiculous demands by initiating trade wars and threatening them.

    A complete bully.

      He’s a fascist.

You guys need to get serious about saying, that real fast.

America has a fascist government, and Americans need to figure out how to do something about that.

It took Hitler less than a hundred days to go from elected to dictator. And from there it took less than four years to invade Poland and start WW2.

I know that many Americans don’t like this either. But Canada is unable to defend itself against the US military without serious help. And I don’t completely trust that a US population that couldn’t be bothered to vote against Trump would take any action to stop him if he were to give the order to invade.

Canada could never defend itself from the US military. Never. Canada could only do asymmetrical warfare and insurgency. But it would also never end. So the US would have to kill all 41 million of us to put a stop to us going FLQ 2 electric boogaloo on them until the end of time. Also we would poison pill all our resources as well. If we can’t have what’s rightfully ours, neither can the fucking USA. Scorched earth.

There’s no way he would invade with military force. It would not only be political suicide, it would collapse NATO and likely the Western world as unified entity. With Russia’s aggression and China’s ascension, the stakes are way to high for a potentially catastrophic move like that.

According to the US Supreme Court, a US president cannot be prosecuted for crimes (if they’re related to their official duties, but whatever goes, I guess). This means that Canada is faced with the fact that they’re being attacked by a foreign power with a ruler not beholden to the rule of law. If they give in, they’re going to be conquered by a king who is not bound by a national constitution, legislative body, nor courts. This is an existential threat to their freedom as individuals with rights.

Well, that and also the fact that Canadians currently see the US as a severely indebted dumpster fire where the system is specifically designed to exploit and oppress its citizens for the profit of the few. A police state where cops can assault, rob, unlawfully imprison and murder anyone without repercussion, where your insurance company will deny you life saving treatments to make more money despite charging you twice what Canadians pay for their own health insurance through their slightly higher taxes, where the cost of education is absurdly prohibitive and social mobility is nonexistent, where it is legal to pay someone a salary that is not even enough to keep them lodged and fed while working over 50 hours a week on several jobs, where corporations can sell you food containing ingredients that are known to be harmful to your health, where religious zealots with belief systems that belong to the dark ages wield significant political power, where citizens are locked up for simple violations while rich people get away with murder, where entertainment TV shows can spew out pure disinformation while calling themselves “FOX News” where Corporations are being given human rights that take priority over real humans and their political donations are considered “free speech”, where any moron can buy a gun without even having a single clue on how to use it safely and where the violent crime rate is through the roof, all that while chanting about being the greatest country on Earth.

And that was before we even take Trump into consideration. But hey, he said we could keep our anthem because he likes it and that we’d pay lower taxes. So I guess that makes it worth it now?

Hopefully after the next election. We wouldn’t wanna have Adolph Vance do something stupid. Like a few days to a week should be fine. Meanwhile I’d be totally fine with an increasing level of dementia? Like maybe he declares war on Mexico on Sunday, but then travels there for vacation Tuesday, then Wednesday he declares war on Mexico again from Mexico. It could get interesting. So long as he shuts down the government for most of the year, were good.

Personally hoping he just drops dead, but that a week or two beforehand, he and Loveseat have some public falling out about…something, honestly the specifics don’t matter. Hell, it could even be something that never actually happened and is just the dementia taking hold. Point is, if he rages against Vance on Truth or wherever and then keels over, every qanon dumbfuck in creation is going to collectively cream their pants over that shiny new conspiracy, and while we will technically be stuck with President Loveseat, that would nerf the fuck out of him.

He says the US doesn’t need Canada but also wants to annex it.

The US absolutely does need Canada’s natural resources. The Canadian people and its sovereignty stand between him / America and that golden goose.

If you recall the colonial era, when a stronger nation wants the resources of a weaker nation, it generally does not go well for the weaker nation.

Canada needs to accelerate the process of partnering with other nations now. It is never going to win a trade war against the US alone. Reciprocal tariffs are not going to cut it. Time to diversify the customer base and then tell the Americans to pound sand when they inevitably come knocking.

Canada is already the only G7 nation that has a free trade agreement with all other G7 nations.
