Following the news that he will be "stepping back" from voicing Nintendo characters, Nintendo has confirmed to IGN that original Mario voice actor Charles Martinet will not be involved in Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

    That’s kinda crazy, I remember an early discussion video where one guy was swearing Mario’s voice was off and it wasn’t Martinet, and the other guys just shrugged it off lol.

    End of an era. Much love for Martinet and I’m happy Nintendo is still keeping him around in some sort of capacity! Hopefully this was mutual; him being in a video about it with Miyamoto feels like it probably was.

      Yeah, even listening back to it, it still sounds very much like Martinet. I didn’t even realize it wasn’t him.

    Oh god I hope they dont get Chris Pratt to replace him…

    I’ll be ok with Troy Baker though.
