Yeah it’s kinda time consuming (20-40 minutes once every few days) but at least it reduces how much my hair tangles and knots between washes. I’m probably overdue a big chop but tbh I really like some of the looks I can get with this length.

Yeah, alt text is formatted in much the same way as display text for any other kind of link is. ![alt text](URL)

I have curly hair and it does whatever the hell it wants, no matter what I do.

Had an Asian guy with perfect straight hair wishing his was curly. Protip: you fucking don’t. It’s hard to deal with and take care of. It literally has its own will. Gel, mousse, pomade, literally nothing can tame the fucking curls. It dries up in seconds for no reason. seriously where does all the moisture go? It frizzes literally no matter what. You do not want this. It is not aesthetic. you literally just want to be pretty and get lucky hair genes.

I wouldn’t even describe my hair as curly, but just as unwieldy. Since I’ve just embraced it, I get so many compliments on it. I do make the effort to get sulfate free shampoo, and brush it before washing, but that’s literally it. Trying to get them to clump into proper curls worked, but really really wasn’t worth the effort for me.

      Edit:

How it looks when I just brush, wash (sulfite free shampoo, nothing else), let dry. Probably not everyone’s favourite but I love it like this and others have said they do too.

As some with curly hair the only way to control it is to shower and wet it. Once you touch it, go out in the wind, lay down, or wear a hat it does whatever it wants.

I will have you know that untreated hard water (calcium, to be specific) also has effects.

Water makes the curls coherent, everything else makes them incoherent, a reminder that entropy always increases. Also that makes it frizzy.

It’s so funny, because in my case airdrying is one of the worst solutions. My hair gets very frizzy and flat while still curly. What I have to do instead is to immediately lie down with wet hair and kinda squish it against the pillow. When I wake up in the morning it’s voluminous and mostly not frizzy.

curly hair is its own entity at the top of my head. it craves moisture and oils, the only thing that can temporarily force it to behave is hair modelling clay. if i dare to blow hot air at it (yes even with the weird hair blower attachment) it is going to revolt against me and not curl. there’s a whole ritual i have to perform each wash, and if i don’t it threatens to make me look like i just woke up from a 12h sleep after 48h of partying
