ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester woman has pleaded guilty to conversion and unlawful conveyance of government money after allegedly hiding her dead boyfriend in his basement and continuing to collect his social security benefits.

The victim’s body stayed there from December 2022 to September 2023, while Stone collected nearly $8,000 in social security benefits meant for the victim. Stone recertified the victim’s SNAP benefits and stated the victim still lived with her — earning Stone more than $1,000 she was not entitled to.

I’m disgusted that he was getting less than $1000 a month. We all pay so much for such little return, and then we have to fight to get it!

Contrary to what the media tells us, those of us solely relying on SS retirement or SSDI/SSI are at or below poverty level. I’m on SSDI and am not making much more

    Rookie mistake.

Never commit $1000 frauds, you’ll get caught and jailed. Better commit billion dollar frauds, you’ll just get told to not do that again and you might be able to keep part of the money

Man if you’re gonna kill someone, do it for more than $8,000.
