Yes! They totally do. There are tons of hobby stores that cater to this

Seriously, Calvin is way too young for this kind of model kit. He couldn’t possibly have gotten it right. Today they are snap-fit, pre-printed, neither glue nor paint required, but still a massive challenge for 6-year-olds. Back then … no chance.
