Nicole Kobie / Wired: As the consumer metaverse falters, the World Economic Forum projects the industrial metaverse will reach $100B by 2030, led by platforms like Nvidia Omniverse — Forget Mark Zuckerberg’s vision of VR meetings; the industrial metaverse bridges digital and physical worlds in a way that’s actually useful.
“falters” is the wrong word here, an illusion of a thing failing to apparate into a real thing because it was boring nonsense isn’t that thing “faltering”, it is that thing being demonstrated to be bullshit… but “ok no problem how about THIS” and Silicon Valley brandishes the same old shiney broken toys that aren’t even fun and investors lose their minds and more money and time gets sucked up into blackholes of utterly incompetent management.
Industrial Metaverse would be a good name for a BDSM dungeon tho
