This is why japanese vtuber companies get permission for every game they play on stream. Japanese copyright law is crazy strict
Dude streamed a NOT YET RELEASED visual novel that was obtained illegally.
That’s a bit much for what they did. I could understand if they leaked an episode early or ripped a blu ray and uploaded it to a torrent site. However it sounds like they basically made an amv of SpyxFamily.
You could understand being sentenced to two years in prison for leaking an episode early? Boy, I can’t.
At least they can have a leg to stand on with the whole copyright thing. I still think this is all bs though.
Its a suspended sentence, not an imprisonment. Its still shitty and nonsense, but the title of the article is even shittier.
