    In 2010: A Space Odyssey the Monolith Aliens say pretty clearly that we can explore anywhere we like but to stay out of and off Europa. Yet the Americans and Soviets still go there. Are they stupid?

      Also the ending is Jupiter gets ignited into a second sun. Which, as a kid, I thought was a weird ending. Why would anyone be happy about a second freaking sun

      if the giant imposing space rock leaving guys told me ‘DO NOT FUCKING GO TO THIS PLACE’ ngl, I’d kinda wanna go there. now, having read the books nerd , which are only losely canon with the films especially the non Kubrick ones, it’s that there’s aliens on Europa and we cannot be trusted to not kill them. but it’d be cool to go say hi! I can be trusted to form a normal relationship with non human life!
