Subsequent 15 sec videos trying to convince iPhone users by focusing on:
-
privacy & security (https://piped.video/watch?v=sFpuVW8SR_k), vaguely touts proactive protection without really specifying what it is in the video (they do show a Play Protect scan as an example), but pretty sure they’re referring to this: https://www.android.com/safety/security/
-
emoji reactions (https://piped.video/watch?v=P0bcpUqEfdM);
-
transferring photos (https://piped.video/watch?v=WLhREY3ynrE);
-
device compatibility (https://piped.video/watch?v=HE7AklvsG5o), basically shows an example of device pairing.
IMO the examples are pretty basic and vague, not what would win over any iPhone user.
This is why I like services like beeper bringing iMessage support over to android. I get to use the phone like, but also make my friends happy by not messing up the blue bubbles
Same. I’m using Beeper on my Pixel for iMessage. I use OneCalender to sync my Apple Calendar with my wife. No reason to use an iPhone. I prefer Android.
Ya Beeper is awesome. I use it for WhatsApp, because I need it for my landlord, but there’s no chance in hell I’m installing WhatsApp on my phone.
Alas, they’re backed up enough you can’t really start using it at present
For anyone else wondering, they’re backed up meaning there’s a wait before you can start using it. I just signed up and it ended with a message that basically says “you’re in line!”
IMessage on android will be amazing, I’m excited to try it out.
That is exactly what I meant :)
One of my friends just signed up 29 days ago and got in so they are definitely catching up. I was on the waitlist for a year and a half
