Are you sure you weren’t browsing all? I don’t think you could be subscribed to a community without your knowing.
To block: Click on the community name ([email protected]) next time you see a post from there. There should be a “block community” button on the right side of the screen. I’ve done this quite a lot to block the porn communities. I see you’re on lemmy.ml, so I think if you click the following link you should see that block button: https://lemmy.ml/c/[email protected]

Yep, fediverse is really confusing as hell, but I’m working my way up to familiarizing with it!
