Ironically, Ubuntu has been the worst in terms of audio drivers and has broken around 5 times on me. Arch has been a lot better as it’s only broken once on me and it was a Bluetooth thing. MacOS does break a lot less than Linux though
You can run Linux on an m1 air.

Try using a distro released in the last 15 years then.
