Remember the giant surge of hope that the Israel policy issue might be, if not corrected, at least addressed? “The Zionism Zombie is finally gone! Maybe something can be done!” And then the dem establishment threw all that right down the tube. I think that’s another reason a lot of the energy got sucked out of the room.
That moment killed even the vestige of hope I had of vague improvement from the Democratic Party.
It is kinda liberating to finally give up on them. I try not to be accelerationist so I do prefer less monsters in government so I still had this little ember of hope they wouldn’t fuck it up for the rest of us because the Republicans are the party of bloody-mouthed fascism
They even teased it a bit by not picking Shapiro. But looking back it had nothing to do with his Zionism, it was likely the murder cover up coming back to bite them in the ass.
Yeah having a skeleton in the closet of that magnitude is a huge land mine for the campaign to navigate
