I would say just the fact that someone didn’t get murdered is a very weak argument to claim their life was not in danger. In other words, I think your assessment is less likely to be true than his.

This was when Snowden leaked all the info to him, which was 2013. He spent like 3 years regularly saying his life was in danger. It was not.
