minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink21•6 months agoDid Leia keep claiming she wants the most lethal military in the galaxy too?
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink20•6 months agoShe was a leading figure in a paramilitary organisation, both before and after the death of the emperor. So, maybe?
minus-squareFlying SquidOPlinkfedilink13•6 months agoYeah, you’d think that would be exactly what she wanted.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink1•edit-26 months agoLeia was leader of the imperial police? Y’all can’t distinguish between movies and reality.
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink8•6 months agoWhat do you think the United States is more like? A guerilla insurgency or a miltaristic empire imposing its will on the rest of society?
minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink5•edit-26 months agoSo Leia isn’t a great analog. Maybe a Vader / Palpatine election would be closer to reality I misread that, hold up. The United States of America spends more money on it’s military than the next 10 countries COMBINED. The United States has ~800 military bases all around the world in foreign countries. This doesn’t sound like an empire to you?

First one, then the other.
