Unless there is another quote the exact quote is, “he’s not my Luke Skywalker”, which is true.

The Luke Skywalker we got in the sequel trilogy is not the Luke Skywalker I would have written. It’s a shame they story that was told.

However the Luke Skywalker we saw in The Mandalorian? That’s the Luke Skywalker I want to see. It’s not perfect, but it’s damn good.

So if we’re doing a Rey film, and she wants to start a Jedi Order, then I want to give Luke the chance to show what he did. Show what worked. We can’t take back the sequels, they happened. But we can do what Dave Filoni has been doing for years and fill in some gaps.

His death was a bit of a failure IMO, he used the force so hard he died lol

The last we ever saw of Luke Skywalker was in Mandolarian. We know nothing of Luke’s story after that.

He astral projected himself from god knows how many light years away, a feat of the force I imagine would be incredibly taxing for even a young prime Anakin Skywalker, having not used the force regularly for only he knows how long because he cut himself off from it.

The Last Jedi has its problems, but Luke’s manner of death is one of the few things that’s fine with regards to Luke IMO.

But what did he accomplish? He was basically a distraction, why didn’t he ACTUALLY go there. He died a loser hermit who was too afraid to actually join the battle. Made no fuckin sense to have him “sacrifice” himself for basically no reason.
