    If you don’t trust a VPN provider in a country with privacy-friendly laws and a proven track record, then use Tor and start your own ISP, I guess.

      But if Tor is too slow, you can layer multiple VPN providers, if they accept anonymous payments. Like Mullvad. Then you get a reasonable amount of obscurity to your internet pathway.

      But I disagree if the original poster, I know for a certainty my local ISP is selling my browsing data flow to date of brokers. Hi Comcast! Given it’s a certainty using a VPN doesn’t put me in a worse position, there’s a net positive chance my VPN provider is not as sucky as Comcast.
