This issue made me an atheist. I had already lost my faith but I had decided to not really consider the question, for years. It was watching Christian leaders hate on refugees that made me sit down with myself and decide what exactly it was that I believed. They showed me it wasn’t an academic question.
Since 2018 I have sheltered, in my own home, a few immigrants with their children. It is nice being my own authority on morality and not following some shaman in a man-dress.
If more Christians followed your actions (or the good Samaritan parable), we’d be better off. But being a good Christian by the rules is hard so here we are.
