We’ve voted, we’ve protested, and still, they ignore us. Our government refuses to meet our basic needs while the billionaire class hoards wealth and power. The General Strike is a grassroots network of regular people who know our greatest power is our labor and our right to refuse it. We aim to unite every person and organization fighting for racial, economic, and environmental justice so that together, we can see real change in our lifetimes.

For transparency, I’m Canadian, but I figured I’d share.

They had the house, senate, and executive in 2021, and didn’t prosecute him. One state got a suit in before he won, and they couldn’t even get to sentencing.

What is going to be different?

House needs to be a simple majority, Senate needs to be a super majority, then we’ll see action.

That’s a pretty high bar. How many senate seats are up for reelection in 2026? How many Republicans would need to flip to Democratic seats to hit a supermajority? Are there enough swing states to make that happen?

People are increasingly entrenched in their parties, and willing to vote for a suboptimal candidate if it means that the other party loses. The good news is that Trump is good at getting out the Democratic vote in the midterms.
