Poilievre and the Conservatives have hammered Carney over his former role as chair of Brookfield Asset Management, a major part of the global investment firm, Brookfield Corporation.
I wouldn’t blame an ordinary person for having money in this index ETF, but it is funny that he made a big deal out of it while having money invested in Brooksfield also.
I certainly wouldn’t use it as a point to discredit Poilievre. There are many other ways to do that.
Seriously, people don’t know what an index ETF is.
The headline is inflammatory, and confirms our biases. Nobody’s gonna read it unless they absolutely have to.
