        Thanks for acknowledging it, genuinely.

        Part of the reason for the apparent inaction in the US (other than its size and resulting sprawl of its population) is that many of us are in very fragile financial situations for decades now. We have to risk losing jobs, and thus our healthcare and housing, to mount protests this large in this many places.

        That’s why we could protest for George Floyd during 2020, many were unemployed by the pandemic and we got a taste of free healthcare (even if it was just 1 vaccine) and working from home (which saved us thousands in commuting costs and time).

        There’s a reason CEOs and the rich want us back in offices. We need to be kept on the edge of bankruptcy to be kept quiet. Hopefully this tariff, which is really just a massive tax on the poor, encourages the economic change we need. That’s the only possible outcome we can hope for.
