Men are considered inately useless & expendible. So their deaths not only do not matter to society, but it’s also justified
That’s not the point.
The point is men tend to start revolutions when given hard times, so it’s best to march them into a meat grinder before they get the chance.
That’s one reason Russia is OK with their losses, those are mostly minorities from less loyal districts, not True Russians (ie Moscovites).
