Please be accurate when you criticize the administration. No US citizen has been sent to El Salvador.

The guy the SC told Trump to get back was a legal immigrant, and a citizen of El Salvador.

Edit: Well. I’m embarrassed. I misread the meme and my brain skipped the “married to a” part.

Worth noting, though, Trump is talking about sending “homegrown criminal” to El Salvador prisons. Considering Trump does not define “criminal” as someone convicted of a crime, this is genuinely scary.

The courts will absolutely shake their fists furiously while the republicans in congress will sit on their thumbs while ceding all their power to the executive branch.

Democrats really have no power except to shut the government down. Hopefully they use that power in the fall.

Don’t worry, Chuck Schumer will rally enough useful tools to keep the orphan crushing machine fully lubricated with blood.

Hey entwine, just an FYI – Kilmar Ábrego García was not a legal immigrant. He was an illegal immigrant (of course, this doesn’t mean he was charged with a crime) who was granted a protection from deportation to El Salvador by a US judge on the grounds that he would be in danger from El Salvadorean gangs. He has had a work permit since 2019.

Nevertheless, he was not granted due process and this administration is violating court orders.

Even criminals and illegal aliens are granted protection under the constitution too. Citizen or not, in the eyes of the law, they have the same (ignored) rights.

Right. Only reason I mention it is because entwine (rightly) noted we should be accurate when critizing the administration, and then accidentally inaccurately described him as a legal immigrant. Legal or not, it was a miscarriage of justice to send this man to El Salvador.

Nevertheless, I misread the meme which never said he was a US citizen, so I was talking out of my ass.

I’m pretty sure they edited it when you pointed out the inaccuracy

This, I don’t care if he’s a shit bag. I know a lot of shit bags are in our country right now, some high up in government who admitted to being here illegally, does that mean we just send them to El Salvador?

do we actually know that no US citizen has been sent? Without due process, there’s no way to confirm. Or am I missing something?
