Can’t really explain it beyond that but I have an app that does them and I can often hear the same in music, without needing headphones or whatever. I’m pretty sure I’m not Just hearing aural illusions
The point is that your brain does create an illusion. You play two different frequencies, one in each ear and your brain creates the third based on the difference. This doesn’t work without headphones.
you can make any sound sound wobbly by adjusting the volume rapidly in a DAW. Binaural beats aren’t wobbly, but you hear them that way anyway… if you use headphones. They are not the same thing.

You can still feel it tho, maybe its in a different way, there’s like a vestibular effect to it
