I’m not sure, how the situation looks currently, but more than a remake, we need Chrono Trigger to be available to play. CT aged extremely well and is still a blast to play.
I haven’t had any issues with the steam version. Granted, I haven’t finished the game, but my only real complaint is that the battle speed is much faster than it was on SNES. It includes the anime cutscenes added into the PSX version without the massive lag that made that version effectively unplayable.

I heard it’s a bad port. I would just use an emulator.
