Proper blocking should be a core feature of any social media, it’s not a ‘nice to have’ feature that can be developed when there’s time for it

because preventing others from “interacting” with an account relies on their instance respecting yours.
That’s not really an excuse to half ass it, there’s lots of things a rouge instance could do and that’s one of many reasons defederation is a thing
