minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish7•3 days agoMost devices are still on USB 3.1, so there is a room for growth. That being said, newest USB protocol supports 240w charging and 20gbps transfer rates. It’s good even for next generation laptops, not even talking about phones

Sure, usb c can technically do 240W, but most people use crappy chinese cables which will do max 5W and blame it on the usb specification
