they’re not supposed to be huge. I think that’s a lemmy bug. On hexbear.net they have a CSS property that limits their width to 56px.
That’s my understanding. It raises standard image macros to another level. I think that bug is why a lot of people dislike them, but it makes it hilarious to me.
