When I joined Lemmy during the Reddit exodus it felt like a new breeze and very positive. It feels like this has changed, posts and comments are more negative. Lots of complaints, even positive news posts receive a lot of negative comments. I am always trying to see the positive in things. Just doesn’t feel fun anymore. Perhaps it’s just me though.

Also still mainly see technical posts, lots of Windows/MS bashing. I’d like to see more communities about non technical things. Perhaps I haven’t discovered them.

Well, because people are people, you can’t expect better from them. Windows is windows, you can’t expect people not to bash it. From the comments, I’m seeing some block the news to try and have a happy day… avoiding the real world to be happy just is putting off the inevitable. We are all on a planet that people screwed up. We are all going to die. Avoiding reality of all that seems silly.

The probability of human extinction due to climate change is not 0, but not 1 either. Yes things are awful right now but the reality is none of us sitting here have any power to change that. Awareness is good, doomscrolling is not. Myself I’m trying to appreciate what we still have now as much as I can before shit hits the fan.
