Oklahoma’s far-right superintendent has insisted that the Tulsa race massacre can be taught in public schools without amounting to “critical race theory”—so long as it’s taught without discussing race.
This clown was elected state-wide to be superintendent of public education….so that he could run around Oklahoma holding meetings about banning books in public libraries. If you’d written a George Orwell rip-off with this plot-line 20 years ago, it would have been dismissed as hyperbolic and absurd.
The amount of vigor and excitement these people have toward dismantling the education system for future generations of Americans should give everyone pause.
I get it, but remember how big the US is! Some is us (myself included) are just kind of stuck in the middle of it. Easier to just talk about America by state, honestly.

Nah this was, if anything, more common 20+ years ago.
Luckily there are more sane people than crazy people. It’ll be ugly, but we’ll work through this.
