I actually like Linux, but I’m considering just blocking all the Linux communities because it’s so incredibly boring to just see you guys circle jerking all day long. We get it. We all get it.

There’s many steps to remember when you have to first create your building environment before you can compile all the basic components for your own distro, and it’s always good when you manually lookup configure and compile your dependencies, I know it’s all excuses for not memorising the steps but there you go.
They could use some memes making fun of our community instead of making fun of the rest.
Let’s be honest, Linux isn’t a viable option for a big portion of society. I love working in Linux but it’s not perfect for those that aren’t techsavy and need more than a browser.
So like, you browse All, find communities minding their own business making little in-jokes, and pop in to say “hey assholes, I don’t appreciate you talking about all this stuff you like talking about! How about you shut up so I don’t have to skip past your posts when I’m deliberately skimming everything!”

Kind of a dumb comment, I see tons of garbage I don’t care about under “all” too but why would I go to each post/community to complain their content doesn’t suit my tastes? 🙄

Ah yes, this is literally the first time I visit Lemmy today after uni and the first post I see on All and that I interact with in more than a week but I am the one that has to go outside, not the person that apparently spends all day on Lemmy, so much so that is tired of seeing Linux memes on its feed. Joking aside though, Gentoo was a great experience for me to learn how Linux actually works.
I never got it running, but I definitely learned some things. I need to try it again someday when I have a lot of free time and a spare laptop.
